QC, ILO partner to open one-stop shop for migrant workers

The city government on Monday inked a partnership with the International Labor Organization (ILO) for the establishment of the Migrants Resource Center (MRC) that is expected to boost migration and development governance, program implementation, and service delivery. The program will be funded by the European Union under its Safe and Fair Programme, which aims to strengthen labor migration governance and address risks inherent in migration systems that can result in violence and trafficking and strengthen rights-based and gender-responsive approaches to violence against women. 6 cities, 51 Caraga towns join CBMS rollout

BUTUAN CITY - Six cities and 51 municipalities in the Caraga Region are joining the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) rollout that began on August 8. In a statement Thursday, the Philippine Statistics Authority in the region (PSA-13) said the CBMS is mandated by Republic Act 11315, or the Community-Based Monitoring System Act which was signed into law on April 17, 2019, by former President Rodrigo Duterte. "The cities and municipalities in the region shall be the primary data collecting authority within their respective localities," the PSA-13 said. The CBMS in Caraga will adopt the Computer-Assisted Personal Interview in the gathering of information, the agency added. "As the need arises, the traditional paper and pencil Interview method will be used," it said, adding that minimum health protocols will be observed during the conduct of face-to-face surveys.
