The Purdue Research Foundation last week unveiled a new research and education hub for the development of future technology products. Officials say the new 5G-connected Experience Innovation Center, or XCenter, established in partnership with technology research firm UEGroup, will focus on designing future digital tools with accessibility and practicality in mind.

Purdue colleges donate nearly $44,000 for local food bank

Purdue University’s College of Agriculture food drive recently raised $43,947.56 for Food Finders Food Bank Inc. According to metrics provided by Food Finders, this amount translates to 133,900 meals that will feed families in North Central Indiana. The College of Agriculture was joined in the drive by nine other major academic units: Purdue Libraries; the colleges of Education, Engineering, Health and Human Sciences, Liberal Arts, Pharmacy and Science; the Honors College; and Purdue Polytechnic Institute. ....

XCenter will make technology more user-friendly
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue Research Foundation on Wednesday (May 5) announced the establishment of the Experience Innovation Center (XCenter) focused on exploring innovative approaches to how people interact and work with technology. Located in Purdue University’s Discovery Park District, the center is a collaboration between UEGroup and the Purdue Polytechnic Institute, one of the 10 academic colleges at Purdue.
“The XCenter’s mission is to bring together amazing minds to reinvent how tech gets done, for humans,” said Troy Hege, vice president of innovation and technology at Purdue Research Foundation. “The center seeks to enable collaboration among industry and academia.” ....
