Chris J Ratcliffe/Getty ImagesThe trailer to Spacey Unmasked, a documentary about Kevin Spacey from the U.K.'s Channel 4 that will debut there on May 6, has debuted online. Thanks to a deal with Warner Bros. Discovery, the doc will also air in the States at some point, Variety reports. In 2017, the Oscar- and Emmy-winning House of Cards star's career was sidelined by sexual assault allegations. He was found not guilty in July 2023 in a London court of a series of sexual assaults against several accusers. The trade says the documentary was in the works before Spacey's acquittal and the film's producers acknowledge it.According to a logline published by the trade, "Spacey Unmasked is a forensic look at a man who was once one of the most admired and respected actors in the world. Featuring never-seen-before interviews and archive, the series examines his life from childhood to early success on Broadway and subsequent meteoric rise to stardom."Producers explain, "This two-part series will investigate Spacey's conduct and talks to multiple men unconnected to that case," teasing that almost all those men have never spoken to media before. In response to the trailer news, a rep for Spacey sent Variety a cheeky statement from the actor, who reportedly said, "I'm honored to be starring in my first film with Warner Brothers in many years. I hope the Academy takes note of some of the great acting by the lesser known cast."ABC Audio attempted to confirm the comment, but had not received word back from Spacey's camp as of press time. Copyright © 2024, ABC Audio. Netflix/Ed AraquelOn Thursday, Netflix dropped all eight episodes of the supernatural series Dead Boy Detectives, based on the beloved comic series from The Sandman's Neil Gaiman.Edwin Payne (George Rexstrew) and Charles Rowland (Jayden Revri) are best friends — and as the title suggests, they're dead. However, as ghosts, they're tasked with solving paranormal mysteries. One of their allies in their quests is Tragic Mick, sort of the Q to the specter sleuths' James Bond. The actor who plays him, Michael Beach, says there's more to the eccentric character, however."He's a man who used to be a walrus, but because of some mystical thing — and it will come up in the show —he has been a human for 200 years," Beach says. "And he spent that time, all of that time trying to find potions and spells ... to turn him back into a walrus, because he misses living in the sea."Beach explains, "He's developed this shop where people can come and get potions and spells to help themselves out of whatever. So, the two main characters, the dead boys, they often come to him because they are trying to help other dead people move on to whatever the next realm is that they're going." The actor adds with a laugh, "You know, I spent some time on YouTube looking up ... video of these huge, hulking walruses hanging out. And, you know, how they sounded, how they moved and tried to incorporate that into who Tragic Mick was."He adds, "That's part of the joy about being an actor, right? If the writing is good and the people are open to ... you trying crazy stuff sometimes, then that's the real fun of it."    Copyright © 2024, ABC Audio. All rights reserved.

Daniel PrakopcykLauv's first new song and video of 2024, "Potential," shows him coming to terms with his sexuality.Ahead of the release of the song, Lauv wrote on Instagram, "it’s genuinely a big deal to me, i’ve been writing songs for so long and have always seen myself as someone who was only allowed to be into girls. and then i started opening that up and now i feel just so so so much. and this song is the first one im gonna put out about a boy. so yeah, hope u love."In the video, Lauv is pulled this way and that by both male and female dancers, until finally he and a male dancer end up embracing. Lauv says in an official statement, "'Potential’ is about realizing you have feelings for someone and dreaming about the potential of what it could be. It’s the beginning of my next, most authentic chapter, and I can’t wait to share this and everything that’s coming next.”In March 2024, Lauv posted on Instagram, "i finally, around age 29 have reopened the door to the part of myself that feels…well…into men. and i don’t know where its gonna go but i think it’s important to talk about because i literally spent A LIFETIME blaming my anxiety & eventual really bad OCD for all my thoughts that had to do with being into men, always shoving it back down."He added, "But here i am, a few kisses and some fun in, a lot of songs in, and confused as ever but at least so much happier and more comfortable and less anxious because i’ve started to embrace a part of myself that i ran away from for so long." Copyright © 2024, ABC Audio. Larry Busacca/Getty ImagesOver the years, Rihanna has worn her share of stunning red carpet looks — and her share of extremely racy looks, as well. But now that she's a mother of two, Rih says she's experiencing some regrets over that. For a TikTok posted by Vogue, Rihanna was asked if she had any "fashion icks." The Fenty mogul replied, "It's gonna sound hypocritical, 'cause I did so much s*** in my life. I had my nipples out, I had my panties out.""But now those are the things, I guess, as a mom, and as an evolved young lady — young! Emphasis on young! — they're just things that I feel that I would never do," she continued. "And I’m just like, ‘Oh my God, I really did that? Nips out?’”Rihanna was also asked if she had a favorite Met Gala look. She chose her 2015 look, which featured a massive yellow, fur-trimmed, embroidered cape made by a Chinese woman named Guo Pei to go along with the theme of China: Through the Looking Glass. Describing it as a "fur stole that went all the way down the stairs," Rihanna smiled, "Nobody will ever forget that."Copyright © 2024, ABC Audio. Beth GarrabrantTaylor Swift's new album, The Tortured Poets Department, name-checks quite a few people, places and things, from a song by the Scottish band The Blue Nile to Stevie Nicks. Many of those entities are now reacting to being mentioned on the biggest album of the year.As previously reported, Patti Smith thanked Taylor for mentioning her in the album's title track. The members of The Starting Line have now offered their thanks for the mention they got in the song "The Black Dog." On it, Taylor sings, "I just don’t understand / How you don’t miss me in The Black Dog / When someone plays The Starting Line / And you jump up, but she’s too young / To know this song that was intertwined /  In the magic fabric of our dreaming.""We feel flattered and humbled by the reverberations of love that have come back to us as a result of [your mention]," they wrote. "It's an honor ... you didn't' have to do that, but you did, and we appreciate it wholeheartedly. Respect!"Meanwhile, the owners of a London pub called The Black Dog are dealing with a crush of Swifties convinced that their pub is the one that Taylor is singing about. A staff member told the Evening Standard, "This is the Taylor Swift Effect - anything she touches goes viral. We’re super excited ... [w]e’re not sure if she [ever] visited. She might have done – we wouldn’t even know. It’s a possibility."Finally, the family of late silent screen star Clara Bow told People that they "love" Taylor's song of the same name, adding that they're "thankful for Taylor connecting with Clara’s legacy through her songwriting.” They also point out that the makeup Taylor wears in the video for "Fortnight" is reminiscent of Clara's signature look.Copyright © 2024, ABC Audio.
