Addressing the unveiling of QS World University Rankings by Subject 2021, the Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ expressed his happiness and congratulated the 12 Indian institutions on securing a position in the top 100.

Twelve Indian institutions have secured a spot in the top-100 positions in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2021. Three Indian Institutes of Technology have entered the group of the top-100 engineering institutes with IIT Bombay grabbing the top position in the Engineering and Technology category. IIT Bombay has secured the 49th position, IIT Delhi is at 54th spot, and IIT Madras is at 94th in the same category. MIT, USA has continued to remain in the top position.

IIT Kharagpur Ranks in Top 50 In QS Subject Ranking 2021 for Mineral and Mining Engineering

IIT Kharagpur has ranked at No. 44 in QS World Subject Rankings 2021 in the field of Mineral and Mining Engineering, It has also been ranked as India's top institute for Agriculture and Forestry.

IIT Kharagpur has been ranked among the top 50 in the prestigious QS Subject Ranking in Mineral and Mining Engineering sector while emerging as India's top-ranking institution in the field of Agriculture and Forestry, an official statement said.
IIT Kharagpur has surpassed its top subject rank in 2021 with the highest worldwide subject rank at 44 in comparison to 46 in 2020 and 47 in 2019, the statement issued by the institute said.

New Delhi [India], March 4 (ANI): Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' on Thursday congratulated 12 Indian Institutions on securing a position in the top 100 in the QS Subject Rankings for the year 2021.
While unveiling 'QS World University Rankings by Subject 2021', the Union Minister said: "Over the last few years, the Government's continuous focus on improvement and reform in Indian higher education has resulted in significant improvement in the representation of Indian institutions in globally acclaimed and reputed rankings like QS."
"These rankings and ratings have fostered healthy competition amongst Indian Institutions motivating them towards global excellence. 12 Indian institutions have made it to the top 100 of the world-IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Madras, IIT Kharagpur, IISC Bangalore, IIT Guwahati, IIM Bangalore, IIM Ahmedabad, JNU, Anna University, University of Delhi and O.P. Jindal University," Pokhriyal said.
