The Royal Family has been left shaken by the allegations to emerge from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's bombshell interview with Oprah which aired last weekend. Commenting on the rift between the couple and the Firm, Dr Shola Mos-Shogbamimu has insisted that the saga could have been adverted had the Palace acted sooner. The US women's right activists also slammed the Queen's official statement in response to the revelations.

Buckingham Palace released a short statement in response to the claims, where they made clear the issues discussed in the interview were a private family matter and the specific allegations will not be publicly addressed.
The statement said: "The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan.
"The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning.
"Whilst some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately.

Ms O’Rourke launched the ‘Save Our Stables’ campaign to buy the London facility after the landlord decided against extending the lease.

Meghan, Harry and their 21-month-old son Archie are currently living more than 5,000 miles away in California.
Royal author Katie Nicholl explained the Royal Family are “over the moon” with Meghan’s pregnancy, but insisted it is “tinged with sadness” as they will not get to see little tot very much.
Speaking to OK! Magazine, Ms Nicholl said: "The family will be over the moon for Harry and Meghan.
“It's another great-grandchild for the Queen and fifth grandchild for the Prince of Wales.

However, a royal photographer has backed Prince Harry not to say anything that will upset the Royal Family during his interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Arthur Edwards told 9News Australia that the Duke of Sussex will not ruin his relationship with the Queen as he knows that he will eventually have to come back to the UK.
The royal photographer also labelled Prince Harry "one of the greatest people" Britain ever had in the country during the interview.

However, fellow Jeremy Vine panellist Carole Malone slammed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Ms Malone stated that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry "insulted" Queen Elizabeth II with their response to being stripped of their Royal Family patronages and titles.
She added that Meghan and Harry do not understand the concept of service and that Queen Elizabeth II "wrote the book" on it. 
Ms Malone said: "I think they have been totally disrespectful to the Queen from the start of all this.
