Dr. Haqqani: New home COVID-19 test approved and vaccine distribution plans underway

Although a COVID-19 vaccine is being distributed in the United Kingdom and distribution plans have been formulated for a vaccine in the United States, the rate of infection in the U.S. remains deadly. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported over 15 million confirmed cases last week, including over 285,000 deaths. The total cases for Michigan during the same period numbered 415,000 cases with over 10,200 deaths, a 2.5% fatality rate.
The high number of coronavirus cases nationwide have resulted in new and reinstated preventative measures in many states including Michigan. The Michigan Health and Human Services Department (MDHHS) extended its epidemic order 12 days. The order, now in effect until Dec. 20, does not include a blanket stay at home action. Employee ....
