In france germany and spain are looking through all sources of intelligence and cross-referencing the passenger manifest to see if there is anyone of interest that the u.s. is aware of who may have been on that flight flight 9525 according to two law enforcement officials i have been speaking with. what we have learned is so far, preliminarily in the process of running these names through data bases, it hasn t turned up anything that stands out or anything linking these passengers to criminal activity. we know that this process is ongoing and officials say the bottom line there s just not clarity right now as to what caused this crash. but the fbi wants to make sure that it s nothing other than just a simple accident especially considering the fact that there were three americans on board. the u.s. has a keen interest finding out exactly what happened here. the fbi we should note has offered full assistance and is still standing by in the event. the french authorities who are leading t ....

That would be a very key bit of information for the investigation. miles, john brings up a great point. when you listen to the cockpit voice recorder when you pull this audio, you are not going to get a running narration from the pilots probably but there are a lot of other things that you can listen for that are informative. yeah. there have been cases, there s an accident we are familiar with where one of the windshields blew out in an aircraft which could clearly cause a decompression event, rapid decompression event. some sort of incapacitation or partial incapacitation of the crew. and certainly, that kind of noise along with the associated warning signs and along with did somebody have a mask on are they breathing as if they are breathing through a regulator or respirator. all those things will be captured by the cockpit voice recorder. it s good that they have that data and good they are analyzing it and that will do an awful lot toward shedding light on ....

Between the routine communication and the descent. why was there no distress call from the cockpit in. i think they were incapacitated or for some reason to respond and control the plane. for what the plane did in the final few minutes, i don t think a conscious pilot was doing it. reporter: what could have caused the pilots to lose consciousness? two of the theory rapid decompression or a fire in the cockpit. one official speaking to the new york times refuses to rule out terrorism saying we don t have any evidence that points to a technical explanation. we have to consider the possibility of deliberate human responsibility. another said it s not considered the most likely explanation for the wreck. a little more than 60 years ago another airliner crashed into these alps killing all on board. ....
