School system not hosting proms

SEVIERVILLE — For the second consecutive year, the Sevier County School System will not host high school proms due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Some community members and parents are organizing proms in lieu of those typically offered by each of the county’s five high schools.
Ashley and Ray Flasher, owners of Beauty & the Beast Bridal Boutique, have scheduled the All-County Prom on April 30 at the Sevierville Convention Center.
“The event ... is not affiliated with or in any way managed by the Sevier County School System, but must instead be a community-based event put together by parents,” said Tony Ogle, Sevier County School System spokesman.
