The best Android gaming apps 2022

Advancements in technology since the turn of the millennium have undoubtedly had a massive impact on how the global gaming industry operates. While game consoles such as PlayStation and Xbox remain hugely popular with gamers, most people also use mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets to get their daily gaming fix. With daily mobile usage now reaching around four hours per person, it is easy to see why so many developers take a mobile-first approach to creating new games. With that in mind, read on as we take a closer look at some of the best Android gaming apps you can download right now. Nintendo As one of the most recognizable names in the gaming industry, it comes as no surprise to find that Nintendo has developed loads of exciting gaming apps. Offering players a mix of freemium and premium titles, the Japanese gaming giant has plenty of immersive games designed to keep players occupied for hours on end. These include Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp and Fire Emblem Heroes, both of which are available to download free of charge. Super Mario Run, Retro Bowl, Crash Bandicoot: On the Run! and Dragalia Lost are other impressive Nintendo games well worth checking out on mobile. Zynga Zynga has developed a wide range of app-based multi-player games which have become hugely popular with millions of players across the world. The firm excels with puzzle games, with titles such as Words With Friends, Crosswords With Friends and 1010! Block Puzzle receives positive reviews from thousands of players. Zynga also excels in several other gaming genres, as highlighted by the excellent FarmVille 2: Country Escape and FarmVille 2: Tropic Escape. With a new wave of social casino games also thrown into the mix, Zynga is a name to note whenever you are looking for the best Android gaming apps. Scientific Games Scientific Games are one of the world’s leading developers of real money casinos games, creating titles for many of the top iGaming brands in the sector. Most of the casinos listed on the Maple Casino online games website feature titles from the American firm which also works with around 130 lotteries worldwide. They also release a vast array of mobile games for Android under their SciPlay brand, including the fabulous Monopoly Slots. The company recently ventured into live dealer games by acquiring Authentic Gaming, further enhancing their appeal to Android users. Square Enix Square Enix was one of the original pioneers of mobile games and now has a global network of leading development studios including Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal. Their most popular app-based titles include worldwide gaming hits such as Dragon Quest, Tomb Raider, Final Fantasy and the iconic Space Invaders. Chrono Trigger, Trials of Mana, The Last Remnant and Romancing SaGa3 are amongst a plethora of other highly-rated Square Enix games. While some of their titles are a little more expensive than other mobile developers, the quality on offer is well worth the additional outlay. Rayark International Founded in 2011, Rayark International creates games across several different genres including science fiction, strategy and role-playing. However, where they truly excel is in rhythm games, with their Android collection including Cytus, Sdorica, Voez, Deemo and Mandora. Arguably the pick of the bunch is Cytus II, a stunningly beautiful rhythm game featuring loads of catchy songs and easy-to-access free content. With all of Rayark’s games rated as four stars or better on Google Play, you can be sure of a fantastic gameplay experience across all Android devices. Halfbrick Studios Leading Australian developers Halfbrick Studios have built up a reputation for creating some of the most popular mobile game apps in the business.Their colle ction is headlined by Fruit Ninja and Jetpack Joyride – both of which have received rave reviews from thousands of users since they were first launched. Dan the Man, Battle Racing Stars and Monster Dash are other Halfbrick titles that have proved to be tremendously popular with Android gamers. Every Halfbrick game is extremely easy to learn, with the swift mechanics providing a pleasurable gameplay experience on a smartphone or tablet. Supercell Supercell undoubtedly focuses on quality rather than quantity, with the Helsinki-based company releasing just five games since it was launched in 2010. Hay Day, Clash of Clans, Boom Beach, Clash Royale and Brawl Stars are the games in question and each of them are brilliant in their own unique way. Clash of Clans and Boom Beach are kingdom builders with real-time strategy elements, making them ideal for anyone who wants a long-lasting gameplay experience. Rayark International is a developer that's best known for its rhythm games, such as Cytus, though the DEEMO series is also pretty popular. While we've known that the sequel DEEMO II would be coming to Android since May (2020), it would appear the Rayark has also remastered the original title to create DEEMO Reborn, which has been available on Steam since September (2020). This remaster replaces the original's 2D graphics with new 3D designs in order to create a much more immersive title, and as of today, this remaster has landed on the Play Store for pre-registration.
