Addiction for oil. we our service into this mess, no question. if there is drilling in anwr we are not going to see the benefits in terms of oil flowing for about 10 years. so it is not something that is going to change tomorrow in looking at anwr, when we were up there, there seemed to be two distinct areas. one is the most majestic mountain ranges. then the coastal plain. we are showing that video now. it is about 30 to 60 miles south of the coastline. which doesn t look like there is much going on there. i m told, correct me if i m wrong, that the drilling would just be a small portion of that. would have a small footprint is that wrong? i think it is wrong on a couple of points. first of all, the coastal plain of the arctic refuge about 1.5 million acres considered by the scientists to be the biological heart of that refuge. in a two week period in the summer the porcupine caribou ....
Environmentalists to make their money. we ve come close a few times to allow that stroke of a pen, some development in that 1002 area that coastal plain set aside for development. republican-led congress some years ago voted for it. clinton vetoed it. we ve seen the ups and downs, politically-speaking of this battle for so many years. there s no reason any more, greta. it doesn t make any sense to keep this plain locked up when it is for development, for exploration that s what the purpose was. greta: it would make such a difference if you see something. it seems anyone who is opposed, in a position of power ought to come look, maybe the person would still be opposed. i don t know. that s why i was curious. obama needs to get up here. as much time as he has on his hands to take all these vacations maybe he should vacation in anwr at least fly over mr. president or play ....
