This year's observance of Veterans Day will include the placement of American flags on the graves of more than 260 veterans at Myrtle Grove Memorial Cemetery, 1017 Cousins St. in Eureka. There will be a brief program to honor all veterans at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.
The Redwood Forest Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution will hold its monthly meeting on Saturday, Oct. 14, at Fort Humboldt in Eureka. The meeting will take place at 10 a.m. in what was the hospital building.
A dance with live music and a “great floor” takes place every Monday from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at the Moose Lodge, 4328 Campton Road, Eureka. Admission is $9.
Each year, the week of Sept. 17 to 23 is set aside as Constitution Week to promote awareness of the United States Constitution. The Redwood Forest Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution has placed a display honoring this observance in the Humboldt County Library at 1313 Third St. in Eureka. The Redwood Forest Chapter of DAR invites everyone to become familiar with the Constitution and to stop by the display. There are also copies of the Constitution, information on the Bill of Rights, flag codes and the Pledge of Allegiance available. The display will be up through Sept. 30.
