Dover High School teacher MJ Hippern named Educator of the Year


DOVER – Physical education teacher MJ Hippern’s Friday afternoon class was interrupted with a big surprise, put together by her students, administrators, and representatives of the Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce.
Hippern didn't expect to see her son, Dakota, Principal Peter Driscoll and others join her class on the field, as they announced that she was awarded the chamber’s Educator of the Year award.
“It's an absolute honor, because there's so many worthy and deserving teachers in the district,” Hippern said.
Hippern is a 20-year veteran teacher in the district, on top of 15 years at Winnacunnet High School. She has been the champion for the Unified Wellness Program at Dover High School, which spread to numerous departments, with her help.
