Oak Park mayor Scaman, Senate President Harmon to speak at Memorial Day ceremony
Memorial Day weekend is considered the unofficial start of summer. Along with commemorative ceremonies to honor fall military personnel, pools open for the season. A Memorial Day ceremony is set from 11 a.m. Monday at the Peace Triumphant Memorial in Scoville Park, officials announced on the village of Oak Park website. According to the website, the program will include remarks from Illinois Senate President Don Harmon, D-Oak Park, and Village President Vicki Scaman.
