According to an affidavit filed by an FBI investigator, Lemma carried out espionage activities between December 2022 and August 2023.
The Justice Department has arrested and charged an IT contractor with two counts of espionage charges.
Abraham Teklu Lemma, 50, an Ethiopian-born naturalized US citizen living in Silver Spring, Maryland, could face the death penalty if convicted of espionage. He was arrested last month.
