FAIRFIELD, CT Fairfield students are back in the classroom full-time this week after months of remote and hybrid learning amid the coronavirus pandemic.
But pandemic or not, some things never change like the all-important question of where to sit at lunch.
The experiences of adolescence, which we ve all dealt with, have a slight COVID twist, Superintendent Mike Cummings said Tuesday to the Board of Education, recounting how students reacted when they encountered lunch tables that accommodated fewer people than expected in order to allow for social distancing. ....

There are two topics of interest that residents have written to me about this past week that I would like to address with you.

On Monday, I presented the Town budget to the Board of Selectmen. Here s the FairTV links of the meeting broken into two parts: Part 1 and Part 2. The Board of Selectmen budget meetings were held on Monday and Tuesday of this week. This coming Monday morning, the Board of Selectmen will take a vote on my proposed budget.
My proposed budget includes a mill rate increase of 1.98%. This incorporates a $7.5 million dollar increase to the education budget, as well as $8 million dollars in spending that was supported by Town bodies to replenish the funds and accounts that were used to subsidize last year s 0% tax increase. This budget ensures the Town s long-term liabilities are fully funded. The education increase is the second highest in a decade. I believe my proposed budget makes the necessary investments i ....

More in-person learning for Weston students

School administrators are aiming to get all Weston students currently in the hybrid model back into school buildings five days a week starting March 15.
We value our relationship with our teachers,  Superintendent Midge Connolly said at last week s School Committee meeting, and have been in conversations with them before break, during break, talking about increasing in-person learning time, and we will continue those conversations.
We feel confident that we can come to an agreement very soon.”
At the Middle and High schools, the social distancing will be a minimum of 3 feet, with 6 feet of distancing to the greatest extent possible, Connolly said, which will not be very often. Teachers will have 6 feet of distancing at the head of their classrooms from students. ....

Dublin City Schools vote to return to full in-person learning

DUBLIN, Ohio The Dublin City Schools Board of Education approved a resolution on Tuesday night allowing all students to return to full in-person learning starting March 15.
The board passed the resolution with a vote of 4-1.
Students in the district spent the first semester and early part of the second semester of the 2020-21 academic year in a hybrid learning model.
The district says when students return to full in-person learning on March 15, all schools will operate on traditional start and end times:
Elementary:  9:10 AM - 3:40 PM
Middle:  8:28 AM - 3:08 PM 
High School:  7:55 AM - 2:42 PM ....
