This criterion becomes decisive in such issues as relations between countries, the volume of investments, the signing of bilateral agreements on equal terms. Therefore, in recent years, political parties in foreign countries have made the fight against corruption a top priority in the parliamentary and presidential elections. Concerns about this evil are increasingly voiced from the highest tribunes in the world. Senate moves against exorbitant shipping fees at Nigerian ports

THE Senate has begun investigation into the exorbitant increase and unjustifiable shipping fees charged by shipping companies on Nigeria bound cargoes.
Consequently, the Senate yesterday asked the Danjuma Goje, All Progressives Congress, APC, Gombe Central led Senate Committee on Marine Transport  to engage stakeholders in the shipping industry and the Nigeria Port Authority, NPA with a view to curbing the exorbitant increase in shipping fees in the country.
Resolution of the Senate was sequel to a motion, titled: “The exorbitant increase and unjustifiable shipping fees charged by shipping companies on Nigeria bound cargoes” sponsored yesterday by Senator Ifeanyi Ubah,Young Progressives Party,YPP Anambra South Presenting the motion, Senator Ubah noted that “Nigeria is an import-driven economy with excessive dependence on imports for consumption and cap ....
