There's been a lot of talk about foreign cash -- i mean, cash of u.s. companies trapped in overseas countries because the tax rate to bring them back is high and puts us at a disadvantaged position. why don't we try something like this -- just an idea. when president bush proposed the american jobs creation act he allowed companies to repatriate cash for 5%, a 5% tax rate. some said it didn't create jobs and 5% was too low. why not bring it back say how about a 15% tax rate, but 10% goes into the government coffers and the other 5% goes into a retraining fund or a fund that retrofits commercia...
