We ll have more on that. now, to capitol hill, senate minority leader mitch mcconnell is throwing his support behind the bipartisan electoral count act reform. congress process for counting the presidential electoral votes was written 135 years ago. the chaos that came to a head on january 6th of last year, certainly underscored, the need for an update. the revision would clarify the 1887 electoral count act to limit the vice president s responsibility to simply counting votes. and to raise the threshold to object to an elector. it would also add laws around certifying elections and help ensure an orderly transition of power. now, this endorsement from mcconnell gives the legislation a major boost, but will put republican leader at odds with former president trump. the bill can now be sent to the full senate floor for a vote. we ll see how many others in the gop go along. still ahead, we ll take a ....
