Cyril, it is going to be a long night for people here in ridgecrest. The power is out. It is dark. There is not a clear handle right now on how much damage was done, but certainly the people throughout this community lived through a terrifying number of seconds as that second tremor struck. It was, of course, as you say much more powerful than the first one. We felt it alongside the rest of the community here, people taking cover, people screaming, people concerned about injuries. Some people briefly it seemed trapped in their homes. Then we witnessed a fire and immediate onslaught of emergency vehicles quickly responding. But certainly a little bit of difficulty getting through to 911 in the immediate moments following that quake. This is a night that people in this community ....

This major quake knocked out power and sparked several fires as well. It also rattled items off the shelves and cracked roads in some places adding jitters to an already nervous region dealing with more than 2,000 aftershocks since the first quake hit on thursday. So more than 700 in just the last several hours. Everybody okay . Evacuate the store, please. Did you get hurt . Im just scared. Is everybody okay . The air is really thick, dusty. This is a bad one. Its shaking. Shaking again. So far there have been no reports of deaths or serious injuries. The epicenter of the quake missed the major cities nearby as you see right there.
