The Illinois assault weapons ban is back in effect after a federal appeals judge in Chicago put a hold on a downstate ruling that blocked enforcement.
Robert Bevis says the alternative is a prolonged court battle that could wind up in front of the U.S. Supreme Court.
Gov. J.B. Pritzker said he’s thankful that “Illinois law enforcement can continue to enforce the ban on the sale of high-capacity magazines and assault weapons while this case makes its way through the courts.”
"We will not stop until this ordinance is defeated and the cost and damages are paid in full," Robert Bevis said.
