on scene or close to being on scene. retired us navy captain armon joins us with the latest on search and rescue but first to matt finn on how crews are working to find the source of underwater noises that have been detectd the. matt good evening. good evening trace. the u.s. coast guard says a canadian surveillance plane picked up some type of underwater sounds yesterday and again today. but a coast guard captain says they cannot confirm reports that those sounds were happening in 30-minute intervals and also could not confirm those sounds were banging or tapping. the coast guard captain says the recordings were turned over to the u.s. navy for analysis and underwater robots were sent to the area where those sounds came from. an ocean science expert, who s assisting the coast guard said the noises sound like banging but could have come from various sources including a nearby ship. tonight some of the world s best data analysts are determining whether the sounds might ....
