Using a five-metre pole and fishing a large bread-punch offering, her patience was rewarded with a nice sized bream. Amber James with her bream catch Two more young members, Marley and Leon Preston accompanied by dad Mark, enjoyed a four-hour tench session at Grey Mist Mere where the family had 11 bites between them and landed six fish. These were the first tench ever caught by Marley and Leon, all on maggot feeder with red maggot on the hook. The session was only cut short when they ran out of maggots. ....
Print Veteran KSDS-FM Jazz 88 DJ Ron Dhanifu was attending elementary school in Los Angeles when he became captivated by music and radio. His enduring passion for both and the opportunity they provide to share an endlessly rich cultural heritage have been constants throughout his life as an award-winning broadcaster and tireless champion of jazz, blues and other genres. Dhanifu was 31 when he relocated to San Diego in 1977 and began a decade-long stint as KSDS’s operations manager and one of the station’s most knowledgeable and affable hosts. After moving back to L.A., where he was on the air and helped launch a record company, he returned to San Diego in 1991 to San Diego and KSDS. He has never left. ....
MEMBERS have been targeting pike or perch on various lengths of the Bridgewater Canal. Trevor Baker had caught a few small perch drop-shotting in Lymm village and on his last cast he thought he had hooked into a small pike but was really pleased when he slid his net under a perch around 1lb 5ozs. Another member has spent some time on the canal near Daresbury over the last couple of weeks. After a few jacks, he had a pike on Saturday that went bang on 13lbs. All were caught using sea dead-baits (a mix of types). Renowned local match angler Steve Brookes and his mate Rod Fraser had a fantastic session on Appleton Reservoir catching over 40lbs of prime roach, up to llb in size, between them. ....
