Networking vendor Cisco has struck a deal to acquire multilayer network automation and control solution provider Sedonasys Systems, also known as Sedona Systems, for its NetFusion network controller, which it plans to pull into the Cisco Crosswork portfolio. 
Headquartered in California with a research and development office in Israel, Sedona Systems’ NetFusion software provides service-to-fibre visibility based on real-time data from operating network domains, including 5G, converged IP and optical core, access and aggregation.   ....

Cisco Systems is acquiring programmable network technology specialist Sedona Systems for an undisclosed sum, the giant network systems vendor has announced in this blog authored by Kevin Wollenweber, Vice President of Product Management in the Service Provider Network Systems business at Cisco. 
Sedona, which has its headquarters in California and its R&D facilities in Tel Aviv, Israel, was founded about seven years ago and had raised about $20 million in funding, with Intel Capital leading its Series B round of $13.6 million in 2016. Financial details of the Cisco acquisition have not been revealed, but Israeli business media have reported a price tag of around $100 million.    ....

Cisco to acquire Sedona Systems


Cisco Systems plans to acquire Sedonasys Systems, also known as Sedona Systems, a maker of communications technologies.
The networking giant revealed its intent to buy Sedona Systems for its NetFusion platform, its Hierarchical Controller (HCO) for optimising, simplifying and automating network control.
The two companies did not disclose financial details of the transaction. However, Israeli business news site Calcalist estimated the deal to be worth US$100 million.
The NetFusion platform automatically discovers, aggregates, and analyses network data from multiple online systems and optical and IP sources, providing real-time, network-wide data that is then used by different NetFusion products. These products reduce the complexity, cost, time, and resources needed to plan, forecast, and operate the optimal network infrastructure, according to Sedona Systems. ....
