The U.S. Department of Agriculture has imposed sanctions on Ayar Produce NY Inc., J&J Distributing Co. and R&S Export & Import Inc. for violating the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act. These sanctions include barring the businesses and the principal operators from engaging in PACA-licensed business or other activities without approval from USDA.
USDA files complaints against two Florida companies
The U.S. Department of Agriculture has filed an administrative complaint against R&S Export & Import Inc. and G&K Citrus LLC for alleged violations of the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act. The Florida companies allegedly failed to make payment of more than $250,000 allegedly failed to make payment promptly to eight produce sellers in the amount of $298,099.
USDA restricts PACA violators in California, Florida, New York and Texas The U.S. Department of Agriculture has imposed sanctions on five produce businesses for failing to meet contractual obligations to the sellers of produce they purchased and failing to pay reparation awards issued under the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act.
