17 May 2021, 12:05 am AMD is going full-blast with the Zen architecture, and it's not just their Ryzen chips that are getting a massive boost come Zen 4. Case in point, their new line of EPYC processors are going to be even more... epic (pun totally intended). TweakTown reports that a certain AMD roadmap for Zen 4 was just recently leaked, and it showed very interesting tidbits for the next-generation EPYC server CPUs. Namely, the 7004 series will be featuring a monstrous 96 cores and 192 threads. That's frankly insane. (Photo : TweakTown ) Based on the very efficient 5nm process by TSMC,...
12 May 2021, 08:05 am To say that AMD is experiencing so much success these days is a massive understatement. They are closing in onto Intel's market share inch by inch, which has Team Blue on the run. And now, they just got tapped to power something seriously amazing. Overclock3D reports that AMD has been contracted to provide their EPYC 7763 and 75F3 server chips to a supercomputer, which would be deployed at the National Supercomputing Center in Singapore. The gargantuan machine is going to serve as an upgrade to the center's current ASPIRE1, which apparently isn't "fast enough" anymore. (...
05 May 2021, 02:05 am Rumors have been going around concerning the upcoming Zen 4 CPUs from AMD, but they've been lacking a few details to get fans excited. Well maybe this one will. TweakTown reports that the new AMD Zen 4 processors are coming around the second quarter of 2022, and will be manufactured on a tiny 5nm node (though frankly, calling 5nm "tiny" is a massive understatement). Codenamed Raphael, the next-gen Ryzen 7000 parts will also feature an integrated GPU based on the Navi 2 architecture. 03 May 2021, 01:05 am Amidst the global semiconductor chip shortage that's affecting so many people and industries, chipmakers such as Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Corp (TSMC) are bringing out the big guns to ramp up production. And they're looking to AMD for help. TweakTown reports that TSMC is currently using AMD EPYC server processors in their general workloads all throughout the company as of the moment. Even their Research and Development divisions are also using the full brunt of the high core-count beasts, and it looks like it's paying dividends. (Photo : Getty Images) Lisa Su, p...
