Rep. George Santos faces an uphill fundraising battle after losing money during the first three months of 2023 and being excluded from a new joint fundraising committee supporting vulnerable House Republicans in New York.
In his first campaign finance report since being exposed for fabrications and targeted for investigations, Santos reports raising a total of $5,333.25 in the first quarter and refunding four contributors a total of $8,532.78.
Mr. Santos, a first-year House Republican from New York, has returned nearly $8,400 in donations so far this year, and has reported no spending on lawyers or trips.
