A stunning sight of snow-capped Himalayas was visible from Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur town on Thursday as pollution levels dipped in the wake of Covid induced restrictions. Continuous rainfall since the past few days also helped as photographers spotted the peaks from Saharanpur and pictures went viral on social media.

Twitter blocks, then restores accounts linked to farm stir | India News

NEW DELHI: Twitter withheld an unspecified number of accounts in India in response to a “legal request” — and then restored them around 9pm — on Monday. The accounts included those of newsmagazine Caravan, Kisan Ekta Morcha (the IT cell of Samyukt Kisan Morcha), tribal leader Hansraj Meena and actor Sushant Singh — all engaged with the ongoing farmers' protests.
News agency ANI quoting “sources” reported that the ministry of electronics and information (MEITY) had asked Twitter to block around 250 tweets/Twitter accounts that were using a hashtag that was “fake, intimidatory and provocative” under section 69A of the IT Act. MEITY had acted on a request of the Union Home ministry and law enforcement agencies, who asked for suspension to “prevent any escalation of the law and order in view of the ongoing protests,” the news agency added.

Police give 'in-principle' nod to farmers tractor rally on Republic Day | India News

Farmers head to Delhi to join agitation. (PTI photo)
NEW DELHI/BATHINDA: Protesting farmers will enter the capital and hold ‘Kisan Gantantra Parade’ (Farmer Republic Day), driving tractors on five different routes covering around 100 km, on January 26 with the Delhi Police on Saturday finally allowing them to hold the march in a peaceful manner.
Farmers will, however, not be allowed to remain in the city after their tractor march, having trolleys as tableaux, depicting state of farmers and farming in India. They will have to leave the capital and return to the border points where they have been stationed since November 26. Police will remove barricades at Singhu, Tikri and Ghazipur borders for the march on January 26.
