Essex-Westford high school senior Samikchhaya Pradhan knows a thing or two about perseverance.
When she was 12 years old, her family moved to Vermont from Nepal where she spent most of her childhood in a refugee camp.Sign up for our Newsletters
She didn t know a word of English when she was enrolled at the Albert D. Lawton School.
It was difficult and I was afraid of not knowing anything, Pradhan said.
But she learned English, received great grades and found her voice thanks in large part to her English language teacher, Christine Sealey. ....
