Samsung has announced its flagship Exynos 2100 mobile processor, which is expected to power the upcoming Galaxy S21 series smartphone launching on January 14. Samsung 2100 is the company’s first premium 5G-integrated mobile processor built on a 5-nanometer (nm) extreme ultra-violet (EUV) process node and it was unveiled at the ongoing Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2021. Samsung says the octa-core CPU delivers more than 30 percent enhancement in multi-core performance than the predecessor. Two days prior the Galaxy Unpacked 2021 event, Samsung has unveiled the Exynos 2100 at the "Exynos On" event today. Samsung Galaxy S21 series smartphone will be the first smartphone to be powered by the newly chipset. Samsung says that the Exynos 2100 chip is the company's most powerful processor till date. The Exynos 2100 5G chipset is built around 5 nm processing technology that can reportedly offer a 10 percent increase in performance and 20 percent less power consumption. The chipset uses octa-cores including an ARM cortex-x1. Samsung Electronics on Tuesday unveiled its new mobile application processor (AP) for premium smartphones that boasts upgraded performance and energy-efficiency. The Exynos 2100 is Samsung's first high-end mobile AP with a 5G modem manufactured on an advanced 5-nanometer extreme ultraviolet (EUV) process technology to provide better solutions to gaming and multitasking environments, the tech giant said. The 5G-integrated chipset, which will be the brain of mobile devices, was introduced at Samsung's Exynos On event held on the sidelines of the all-digital Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2021. "Our Exynos team has been committed to creating premium mobile computing experiences by bringing innovations to processors that are at the heart of today's smart devices," said Kang In-yup, who heads System LSI Business at Samsung. "Exynos 2100 will set a new standard for tomorrow's flagship mobile devices."
