The fifth edition of the Back Alley Tour in Melfort was a hot one. Not only was the temperature well into the 30’s, but the number of participants and attendees was also high. Over 25 artists and vendors set up for the day in the alley behind the Northern Lights Gallery to showcase their creations while a handful of buskers performed. Organizer Sandra Dancey told northeastNOW artists and the public alike really needed a day of interaction. “The last year and a half has been tough on everyone, so to have a relaxed event where people can just come together and socialize and to see everyone’s faces again has been great,” Dancey said. ....
This year’s Back Alley Tour in Melfort will be the biggest ever. There are over 30 artists and vendors that will be set-up behind the Northern Lights Gallery to showcase their work on Thursday from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Organizer and owner of the gallery Sandra Dancey told northeastNOW artists are coming from as far away as Regina and Saskatoon. “The timing was in our favour this year with it being just after things are re-opening,” Dancey said. “There are lots of people that are anxious to get out and interact so the artists are happy to be there and there are more people coming from further away as well just to see.” ....
