South Jordan Middle School has been evacuated due to an unusual smell, according to the South Jordan School District.

As we inch closer to the end of the school year, two school districts set up shop at a job fair in West Jordan on Thursday.

For some school employees, Monday will be a regular work day this year but for subsequent years, district school boards will consider adding the Juneteenth holiday to the calendar, officials said. The Utah Legislature designated Juneteenth as an official state holiday earlier this year.

Many Utah schools’ calendars were set before the Utah Legislature made Juneteenth as a state holiday. Some will consider adding the holiday to upcoming calendars, although one rural district has voted not to include any additional holidays in 2023.

A new study by researchers in the University of Minnesota College of Science and Engineering’s St. Anthony Falls Laboratory found that popular wakesurf boats require a greater distance from the shoreline and other boats compared to more typical recreational boats.
