Outlawgrabbingears cruised to a very handy win in Monday’s $13,000 Horses & Geldings Preferred 2 Handicap at The Raceway at Western Fair District, and that makes it back-to-back triumphs in the top class for the five-year-old son of Smart Shark-Grand Slam Woman. In rein to trainer/driver Paul Davies, Outlawgrabbingears sprinted to the lead from Post 6 and never looked back. The gelding powered through fractions of :27.3, :56.4 and 1:25.3 before using a :28.4 final quarter to win by 5-1/4 lengths over Easton Beach in 1:54.2. Cheddar Bay rounded out the Trifecta ticket in the six-horse affair. Sent off as the 1-5 favourite, Outlawgrabbingears made it 24 wins from 51 starts for owners Paul & Nicole Davies and Deborah Pinel. The pacer recently surpassed $300,000 in career earnings.
