Guidelines for fully vaccinated people
You are fully vaccinated for COVID-19… now what?
Yes, it is still advised to wear a mask in public settings. Yes, it is still recommended to avoid medium and large-sized gatherings. Yes, it is still advised to practice social distancing.
“Although we are making great strides in Chippewa County in regards to vaccination efforts, we urge the public to keep in mind that we still have a long way to go,” said Karen Senkus, health officer at the Chippewa County Health Department.
Senkus cited the Centers for Disease Control recommendations that were recently issued for those who are fully vaccinated. These recommendations indicate that if a person is fully vaccinated, they may be able to relax some of the precautions that have been in place. Gatherings that are small and include people from different households that are also fully vaccinated are relatively low-risk.

SAULT STE. MARIE – Sault Tribe received 975 doses of vaccine on Tuesday, Dec. 29, from Pfizer. Health Director Dr. Leo Chugunov said he had expected only 185 doses, which was the number of the initial shipment.
Chugunov said the unexpectedly large shipment left him and the Health Division staff scrambling to reschedule appointments and obtain more needles and syringes, because some shipments of the vaccine didn’t contain.
The Health Division is working on plans to distribute the vaccine according to a priority list. Health Division team members, elders and non-Health Division critical workers are at the top of the priority list.
