They jam something into the bike spokes and jump the riders. These are vicious because theres been no attempt to slow the people down and ask for the bicycle. They are using violence first to take the bikes. Saying nothing else. Making no demands, grabbing the bikes. Its shocking, i have been riding two or tre years, commuting late night. The overnight hours are primetime, when the bike path is empty. Taking whoever comes down the path and taking whatever comes their way. If someone jumped me i would let lose a lot of rage. Police have stepped up uniformed and plain clothes patrol and telling bicyclist to avoid riding alone at night. The thieves are not targeting any type of bike. Some have been recovered on craigslist.
