ICC World Cup: Does anthem-singing at the start of the game really matter?
At least one cricket writer argues that anthems at cricket games should be canned because many spectators are disrespectful when it is being sung. You can see they are mostly busy with their cellphones, while folks at home are readying their beer-samosas for the 8-hour binge-watch. But some players say the national anthem gives them goosebumps and fires them up. These days, cameras pan in for close-ups of players' faces, so you can see who's in sync. I'm not sure it really matters.
