Man used bum check to steal $64,000 Lexus from dealership, police say
Police say a transient man with a history of arrests for financial crimes was able to use a bum check to steal a $64,000 Lexus from a Springfield car dealership. Authorities recovered the Lexus the next day. But the suspect, 40-year-old Scott L. Mitchell, is still at large. On Monday, prosecutors charged Mitchell with felony stealing and forgery in connection with the December incident at Reliable Lexus in Springfield.
