"As much as Rs 1,162.49 crore has been earned through disposal of office scrap, including e-waste such as old computers and other electronic items. The cleanliness drive has become India's largest campaign for institutionalising 'swachata'," Singh told PTI.
The Indian government has earned INR 776 crore ($105 million) from disposing of scrap in three cleanliness campaigns conducted by government offices in the last three years, according to Union Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh. The ongoing special cleanliness campaign 3.0 has generated INR 176 crore in revenue.
