Guitar lesson yesterday and a special report came on. I listened to it. You just stop in your tracks. Certain things surprise you and he had no illnesses that we knew of. A little mention that he had gone back to rehab for fine tuning of his sobriety recently. We knew he battled that forever. We interviewed him several times. Talk about universally beloved. That is what he was. I dont think he had an enemy on earth. And beloved through generations. I remember sitting at the table almost like a wave of people learning about the news. Younger people were talking about aladdin and things like that. I was thinking i loved him in all of his comedic roles like mrs. Doubtfire but something about the dramatic roles. One of my alltime favorites was dead poets society. It made you believe in writing. He was so transformative. I thought he deserved the oscar for that one. He won only one for good will hunting.
