Pamplin Media Group - Clackamas County Chair, Sandy Mayor disagree about COVID-19 data

Jim Bernard questions what county's motives for tampering with virus data would be
Outgoing Clackamas County Chair Jim Bernard says he is "dismayed" by Sandy Mayor Stan Pulliam's statements about data related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Pulliam is leading a movement of local businesses that wish to open one level below the COVID-19 categories outlined by Oregon Gov. Kate Brown, starting Jan. 1. Last week, Pulliam told KATU News that Clackamas County is "misleading residents with numbers."
On Tuesday, Dec. 29, Pulliam, Estacada Mayor Sean Drinkwine and Molalla Mayor-elect Scott Keyser attended a rally in Estacada that advocated for local businesses that wish to reopen with a limited amount of indoor dining. Pulliam said he had not seen data that small businesses significantly contributed to the spread of COVID-19.

Group of leaders, business owners lend support to 'Open Oregon' movement, while others remain skeptical
With the support of Sandy Mayor Stan Pulliam, Estacada Mayor Sean Drinkwine, Troutdale Mayor-elect Randy Lauer and Gresham City Councilor-elect Sue Piazza, among others, multiple local businesses plan to open to customers indoors on Friday, Jan. 1. The protest is being called "Open Oregon" and the goal is to highlight how brutal the state-mandated closures have been. Supporters are heralding it as an exercise of First Amendment rights.
"Several businesses have been reaching out to me and they're in panic mode," Pulliam said prior to a two-week freeze called by Oregon Gov. Kate Brown in November, amid rising cases of COVID-19
