May 7, 2021 BENEFIT: The “No Tiger Fights Alone” fundraiser to help Howland High School student Sandra Rose will be held 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Howland Tiger Stadium. Sandra has been battling COVID-19, diabetes and other health issues at the Cleveland Clinic. The fundraiser will include a drive-thru dinner, 50-50 raffle, cornhole, basket raffle and bake sale. Friday, April 30, 2021 Ruth Mische, 94, of Nevada, Mo., passed away on Tuesday morning, April 27, 2021, at The Groves in Independence, Mo. She was born Nov. 20, 1926, in Vernon County, the daughter of the late Dan and May Emory Mische. Ruth was a member of Nevada Church of the Nazarene and spent countless hours working in and for the church. There are young adults who remember her fondly for her devotion to them, taking them to church and caring about them. She had a host of dogs, all well fed and adored and supported.
