Seismic Retrofitting of Corroded Concrete Buildings: A Case Study
Italian researchers assessed and retrofitted a corroded concrete building in Sicily, proposing a comprehensive strategy involving steel-concrete composite floors, concrete and steel jacketing, FRP wrapping, and new steel elements. The retrofit significantly improved seismic performance, demonstrating the effectiveness of mass and stiffness redistribution techniques.
