why harris is jumping up, voters see her as the electable choice. >> that's who could take on donald trump. we have potential black voters and their choice for a nominee. >> there you go. here we go. i think this is rather -- take a look here, back in april and may, joe biden, 49% among african-americans, there's a real question, given that we have two african-american senators running. what do we see? we see now -- look at harris, a jump from 6% to 24%. in other words, by 4, by a multiple of four, she jumped up. one of the things i'll point out, this to me, harris is starting to look like obama, remember back in 2008 where clinton was leading among african-american voters. this to me, this polling reminds me a lot of that joe biden better watch out.
conservative voter flinch when they see the picture of chris christie hugging barack obama. >> but of all the senators running, marco rubio sponsored more legislation with democrats and chris christie's executive experience but extremely unpopular. he's experienced but hasn't done well. these are great talking points but flaws in all of them. >> one of the things i thought that rubio could be the bill clinton of the republicans, bill clinton '92 of the republican party. bring more people in, inject a youth to the race. he hasn't done that. what's interesting is this is a race where governors aren't on the platform in an interesting way, voters are looking at legislators i guess because they think that through washington is where they're going to make their rules. >> i'm not sure being bill clinton in '92 say great idea considering he won because there was a third candidate in the race. >> you're with us all hour. we have more to talk about. we'll get to the democratic side and el chapo as well. before voters in new hampshire and iowa choose who they want to be next president
winning elections on this because it's not an issue for for middle income people. it's an issue for the working poor. neither party has a coherent message for people making $20 or $30 an hour who can't get a wage increase through regulation. >> but, josh, if you remember, the midterm elections were you found four senators running, they were running on a platform of being republican but the ones at the same time down ballot the initiatives that won were minimum wage. so this is an issue that resonates across party lines and that's why it's one of the reasons why you see marco rubio talking about it because he knows that. even in arkansas where a red senator won the minimum wage was passed. >> but that's my point. you can pass a minimum wage increase in arkansas but it didn't do democrats any good in elections in arkansas. it's an issue where people agree but they aren't necessarily walking into the voting booth saying i'm going to pick an elected official who agrees with me on the minimum wage.

how they ask it. io iowans are a little more laid back and folks in new hampshire are a little more aggressive and out there. it's a difference in style but in both places they're talking about jobs, about national security, terrorism and student debt. those are the four things i hear about the most. >> this may be sort of a gimme because you're a governor. we have senators running, governors running and business people and a doctor. do any of those experiences make anyone better qualified. >> being a governor because you're actually having to make decisions every day and be held accountable for them. god knows we don't want anybody from congress to be president again. >> so the senators, they're off to the side for you, the ones in running? >> for me they are. i just don't think we want another person whose only experience is being in the united states senate. >> i guess secretary clinton was at the state department and she was also next to the oval office for years. >> she did a fabulous job at the state department, didn't she? the world is on fire after what

hp executive, carly fiorina. there's african-american retired surgeon, ben carson. there are not one, but two hispanic united states senators running. and today, we learned that the next likely declared candidate brings another kind of unprecedented diversity to the field. because he is a man who is under indictment. no one under flan indictment haselony indictment has ever made a run for president before. but that is not holding become rick perry. he's apparently going for it. his wife's twitter feed announced today that governor perry will make a declaration of some kind of june 4th. which means for at least for now, we can keep rick perry on the long list of by my count, 20 republican presidential hopefuls. the size of that list is an issue that the republican national committee has been contending with this week during their spring meeting in phoenix, arizona. the rnc seems to be aware that they can't really have 20 people
