A LATE night triple-0 call sent police to a hotel car park where a security guard reported seeing a man trying to inject something in his arm.
When officers arrived just after 2am they came across Shane Hodgkiss seated in a blue Suzuki.
Prosecutor Senior Constable Andrew Smith told Ipswich Magistrates Court Hodgkiss was parked outside a Booval hotel.
His Suzuki was searched and a clip seal bag with 1.42 grams of the drug ice was found in a black bag under the driver’s seat.
A capped syringe with red coloured liquid was found in the centre console. ....

A MAN charged with slapping a female police officer on the arm said he did so because he needed to get outside and vomit.
The warehouse supervisor s behaviour this week cost him a hefty fine, after James Allan Bradley Ross pleaded guilty to charges of serious assault on a police officer and obstructing police.
Ipswich Magistrates Court heard police had been called to an Ipswich home on March 6 in relation to an earlier incident.
Prosecutor Senior Constable Andrew Smith said officers went to a house at Churchill just before 8pm and found a resident bleeding on the face and with blood on the ground. ....

Woman busted with drugs days after sentence

JUST days after she was sentenced in the District Court for drug offences, Renae Green was caught by police with 66 grams of marijuana.
The illegal drug was stashed inside a first aid kit on the back seat of her Holden Commodore.
Two weeks later Green was again busted with marijuana in her car.
She was charged and sentenced before Ipswich Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
Renae Louise Green, 30, from Goodna, pleaded guilty to five charges including possession of 66 grams marijuana at Booval on November 23 last year; possession of drug utensils; possession of ice on December 15; possession of drug utensils; and failing to take reasonable care with a used syringe. ....

A MAGISTRATE has expressed frustration with the Office of Director of Public Prosecutions for “wasting the court’s time”, during the sentencing of a man on drug charges this week.
When charges left over from a sentencing matter heard in Brisbane Supreme Court were instead referred back to Ipswich Magistrates Court to be dealt with it, it clearly caused the magistrate some annoyance on what was already a busy day.
Nigel Grant Earley, 49, from Bundamba, appeared from jail via video-link before the Ipswich court and pleaded guilty to nine charges that included drug and utensil possession offences, and a breach of his bail. ....
