A Utah bill that changes how books deemed pornographic or indecent could be removed from public school libraries is on its way to Gov. Spencer Cox’s desk.

Utah lawmakers are working to change state law over how books could be removed from school libraries, although details still need to be hammered out before it could get to the governor’s desk.

The legislative proposal was approved by committee on Wednesday despite objections from some lawmakers. It has been sent to House for consideration during 2024 session.
