The capability set initiative launched in fiscal 2021, with upgrades of off-the-shelf and specialized tech expected in 2023, 2025, 2027 and beyond.
Command posts of the past were relatively stationary, cumbersome to set up and break down, and often identifiable by the heat and noise they emit.
As the U.S. Army prepares for potential conflicts in the Indo-Pacific or Europe, it is placing increasing emphasis on the division, some 15,000 soldiers.
