2020 is nearly over, and I am sure that all of us are happy to see it go. We have grappled with a global pandemic, unprecedented wildfires up and down the West Coast, orange skies in San Francisco, a national uprising against systemic racism and police violence, and the most consequential election of our lifetimes and there are still a couple of weeks left in the year. ....

Bay Area Reporter :: Supervisors panel advances Yekutiel for SFMTA board seat

A gay small business owner is one step closer to a seat on the powerful San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency s board after a hearing Monday by the Board of Supervisors rules committee.
Emanuel Manny Yekutiel s nomination was approved 3-0 during the December 14 remote hearing. The committee also unanimously recommended disability rights advocate Fiona Hinze to another seat on the SFMTA board. Mayor London Breed nominated both Yekutiel and Hinze.
Yekutiel owns the eponymously named cafe and event space at 16th and Valencia streets in the Mission district. He currently serves on the San Francisco Small Business Commission, a seat he will resign if approved for the SFMTA board. ....

Eniwaye Oluwaseyi examines the power struggles of shared spaces through painting
In his debut solo show, the rising Nigerian artist showcases a technique he s only been working on for the last year and a half.
Words
Eniwaye Oluwaseyi always wanted to become an artist, even as a child. But somehow along the way, he found himself going down the engineer route, studying Agriculture and Biosystems Engineering. During his second year of studies, he started watching YouTube tutorials on how to create realistic charcoal and graphite portraits. Gradually, he tells us, “I became more ‘artistic’ and art-inclined,” a path he’s fully explored to become a self-taught artist brimming with character and flair. ....
