Some said this is a great deal because it s bipartisan. but really in some ways it s a bipartisan compromise in the wrong direction. both sides have come together and said we ll spend more money on the sacred cow that each side wants but in reality the person that gets shafted is the taxpayer. on the next generation burdened with the debt. there s some procedural ways we can try to avoid this. we can do the right thing. that hasn t seemed to work decade after decade. the government shut down prevention act. it would say that if the appropriation committee don t do their jb. if stla 12 months to come up with an appropriation bill and the ted lean comes and they haven t done their job. what would happen is the government wouldn t shut down. the government could continue spending money. it would be at 1% less than they had been spending money. you have to have that hammer. ....

During a government shut down ace under it? that s my understanding. we need to be careful about what would happen in the shut down and what wouldn t happen in a shut down. when it comes to essential services like defense of our country we re not going to shut that down. that is not going to happen. i hope the shut down doesn t happen, i don t think anyone wins with a shut down. if it does happen i want to make it clear some people in congress think a shut down would be a good thing to happen. i think congress should feel the pain. we should have have a vote on this so congress doesn t get paid during the shut down. martha: a lot of these agencies were pre funded and they continued to operate during the last shut down. because we don t have any budget for 2011 at all a lot of things what would automatically shut down? what would we all notice instantly if it happens. first of all you re right it s different than 95. i was -pbt here in 95. some appropriation bills have been passed ....
