Down around mid-october. for people who aren t as into this stuff, what there are people who aren t into this? there might be a few. watching this thing launch, if it launches, it s going to be bigger than any launching ever watched. it is a massively powerful rocket. it s not even like we re used to, with shuttle launches, which are one of the most amazing things i ve ever seen. it s going to be loud. it s going to be big. it s part of why they need clear weather, because i have to be able to watch this thing for as long as they can to make sure everything is okay. does it look like weather is an issue today? it doesn t look like weather, i know we know the window, the weather gets better and better the later that two hour window is. there was a small issue today with refilling some of that hydrogen. it looks like that s been cleared up and all systems are still go. let us hope. lindsey, thank you for this amazing, the graphics and the story you did, it helps us understand ....
Lightning strikes. so i live there for several years and we have lightning researchers at the universities there because of that. now, the hydrogen fuel leak is even more concerning but they sound like they ve been able to handle that as well. if you work in space, whether it s an astronomy or launching things into space you re accustomed to this. inclement weather and technical difficulties are incredibly common and you just have to wait and see. i would joke having covered the shuttle launches, it was almost like a paid almost a paid vacation sometimes because you always knew it would generally get scrubbed there at least once or twice. you would always be waiting a couple days. yeah. tell us about what this is. this is just a huge rocket, but we ve seen it before, something like this. yeah, so this is similar to the apollo v rocket, the apollo rockets that took our citizens, our astronauts, to the moon back in the 1960s and early 70s, but this one is just slightly more po ....
jon: yeah, it is really again quite an achievement for a private company to have really been this bold, to not just, you know, put them up there sort of in the same space plateau, if you will, as the international space station, but 300 miles up, quite a ways higher than the space station is currently orbiting. it is really an achievement, and obviously elon musk and everybody at space x ought to be incredibly proud. this craft actually launched from the same launch pad at cape canaveral, cape kennedy, kennedy space center at cape canaveral, from the same pad where many of the moon missions launched. did it not, clayton? yes, actually launched from the same pad 39-a at the kennedy space center was typically the pad used the most often by the shuttle launches, so they ....
