Heroes on the Water Central California Chapter hosted the Si Tenenberg Memorial Kayak and Fishing Event keeping a beloved community member in mind.
Many people attended the annual Faces of Freedom Memorial Day ceremony in Atascadero Monday.
– North County commemorated Memorial Day at the Faces of Freedom Memorial in Atascadero Monday. The Estrella Warbirds began the ceremony with a fly-over. Escorted by the Central Coast Pipes and Drums, the Cal Poly ROTC Color Guard presented the colors. Members of the Atascadero High School Choir sang the National Anthem.
Si Tenenberg, a marine veteran and founder of Helping Soldiers in the Desert, died in February. With his passing, the organization’s future was uncertain. In a story that’s Positively Central Coast, Si’s dedicated group carries on his legacy one box at a time.
