Not only did the company return exceptional sales figures in Q1, but that momentum has continued into Q2. Both globally and in North America, Volvo had a brilliant April. Style Forward Strategy Works So when it comes to the 2021 Sentra, the styling truly stands out. No longer bland or forgettable, the new Sentra channels the design language found in the attractive Maxima and Altima. The top trim SR models even feature a two-tone roof, adding more charm to the compact car. The LED headlights, along with the V-shaped chrome surround of the grille, help to draw attention. The side profile looks sleek and sporty. I’m less impressed with the rear of the vehicle, which isn’t as stylish as the rest of the vehicle, but that’s a minor complaint.

The novelties start with the design, and the Swedish automaker is in a class of its own. Clean and subtle, though far from conservative, the exterior flair is kicked up a notch with the eye-catching “Thor’s Hammer” headlights. While plenty of automakers have signature lighting elements, the sideways T-shaped shine from Volvo’s illuminators is elegant, especially compared with other automakers’ attempts to stand out (see: humongous, eye-searingly ugly BMW grilles and tacky illuminated Mercedes grilles).
